I taught ballroom, latin and disco dancing while I was going to college for a degree in Fashion Design. I enjoyed it so much I started my own business making one of a kind dance competition gowns.

 

I loved it. It was a fabulous career! "Beautiful Dance Costumes covered in rhinestones". For 20 years I could not imagine ever doing anything else.

 

When I had my son, Robert, I was in the height of my success and known as one of the top designers in our field... but as a single Mom it was becoming more and more difficult to travel over 15 times a year on sales trips, run my shop, and to stay one step ahead of my dressmakers. I could not do all that and still be there for all my son's needs.

 

That's when our wonderful Bengals came into our lives. They have brought so much joy into my son and my life. Now we have our newest and most exciting new African Serval Hybrid, the Savannah. The Savannah's are much larger with long elegant and gracefull legs, ears and body. Their personality much like a loving dog ,they come running when you call them. I bring them on leashes to places all the time, and they love playing fetch.  They make wonderful pets and will keep you entertained for years.

Breed History

Joyce Sroute started breeding Savannah cats in the late 1980's but did not register them until 1994. She is well known among the exotic cat owners and breeders as the original founder of the Savannah Cat Breed. She is also known worldwide as the first to breed down the generations and produce the Fertile F5 males.

Martin and Kathrin Stucki today's owners of A1 Savannahs share the fascination of the savannah cats and are devoted to continue what Joyce had started.

We hope to continue the legacy of savannahs that Joyce Sroute started and would like to Thank and Martin and Kathrin for helping our Cattery start with Top Quality Savannah Breeders.

They love to climb and rest in high places. The cat tree becomes their territory somewhere to scratch play and rest. Yes they do use the cat trees daily. It helps with the scratching of furniture and a place to store all their toys. They can be taught to only scratch their tree.
